Hello,
Greetings from Denver,Colorado!!! I am so pleased to see your web page posted. When I first began using the internet (several years ago), my very first search was to find information about a small town in Germany I lived in as a child.
My family was stationed at Rhein Main Air Force
Base in 1976. We were fortuate enough to live off the base. Its been a few years but I believe the street we lived on was Rheinstrasse. Our landlords were the Pohls? I cany remember his name but heres was Anna. They had two sons, one younger than me. The one my age(35) was named Klaus. I believe mister Pohl worked at that time for Luftunsa as an engineer or mechahic. i know it is a long shot , but it would be nice to locate Klaus somehow via the internet/email.
I hope one day to return with my wife and kids to visit. I know nothing would look as I remembered it.
Some of the things I remember, and remain dear to my heart living there are: A hill in Morfelden we used are sleds in the winter on, all the neighborhood food stores where we could buy fresh food daily, THE BEER!! (my Dad gave me a taste now and then), Sprutal?? (your version of soda), the ice cream man that drove by daily, the indoor swimming pool in Graus Grau?,Wolksmarches with my family, playing Soccer at a school yard (concrete yard surrounded by a 8´wall with broken glass to keep us from climbing it),The 750 yahre Celebration
of Worfelden (I still have the poster that the town had printed up),and last but not least..All the nice people that spoke little english but I was always able to understand by their kindness and generosity.
I hope i didnt bore you too much with my memories. Please add me to any list you might keep. Any photos would be great! Joe Morgan
